Smith Ski Athlete on CNN - December 31, 2008

Last spring, Smith Ski Athlete Matthias Giraud had a sweet line scoped out on Mt. Hood, OR.  The only problem with this line is that there was a 300 foot cliff band directly in the middle. No problem for the French born Giraud, who skied the line and then sent the monster cliff without hesitation. As he plummetted back toward earth, he pulled his BASE rig, and safely flew his canopy to the gentle slope below, successfully completing the first ever Ski BASE off Mt. Hood. CNN's producers obviously liked what they saw from Matthias, and are planning more projects in 2009. Check out the video that has aird 24 times on CNN during prime time.
